  14. Are you ready to take on the CANYON CAPERS challenge? Your job is to collect
  15. all of the jewels and gold in a huge underground mine. But watch out for those
  16. pesky snakes, mice, and mutant frogs, who are out to prevent you from leaving
  17. with your hard-earned booty. It's level after level of surreal arcade fun!

  21. STARTING CANYON CAPERS
  22.  
  23. When you first load CANYON CAPERS, you will see the Options menu. Type [2] 
  24. to choose your graphics and sound setup. Use the up and down arrows to move 
  25. between video and sound options. Use the [SPACEBAR] to switch video and 
  26. sound options. Press [F1] to play from the keyboard or [F2] to play with the 
  27. joystick. When you're finished, move to DONE and press [ENTER]. Press [1] 
  28. to begin the game.

  30. When you see the title screen, press the [SPACEBAR]. You will then be asked 
  31. what type of input device you wish to use; press [F1] for keyboard or [F2] 
  32. for joystick. Press the [SPACEBAR] or the [FIRE] button to begin.

  34. At the beginning of CANYON CAPERS you have three lives, each represented by one
  35. heart. As your energy runs out the amount of red in one heart will diminish.
  36.  
  37. The object in each level is to collect all of the jewels and gold while
  38. avoiding the snakes, mice, dripping blood, frogs, and other villains. At 
  39. the beginning of each level and after collecting certain items you will be 
  40. surrounded by stars, indicating temporary invincibility.

  42. After your third life has expired, you will be asked if you want to continue.
  43. Press [FIRE] or the [SPACEBAR] to continue. You will be offered up to two 
  44. continues.
